Derby Tercentenary Celebrations

What a great night was had, by all who attended Pride Park Stadium for the Derby Tercentenary Celebrations.
Approximately one hundred and ninety guests descended on the stadium to celebrate three hundred years of United Grand Lodge of England.
Fine food, drink and company was enjoyed by everyone, where the evening culminated with Staying Alive – a Bee Gees tribute act. They certainly got the majority of guests to their feet, on the dance floor.
What a great night, thanks to all who organised it, with special thanks going to Martyn Bertalan.

First blog post – Wednesday 5th July 2017.

Brethren,
What an excellent evening we had for David Jennings at his Initiation.
We were Joined by the Provincial Grand Master of Derbyshire, an Entered Apprentice from Old Denstonian Lodge No 5490, a number of other visitors, including five visiting masters and a number of members from Dorothy Vernon Lodge No 2129.
The G and CKS were offered to the PGM by our WM, where to the WMs shock the PGM proceeded to remove the WM from his chair.
The Candidate who showed exceptional confidence was Initiated, and a number of Officers were involved in different parts of the ceremony.
The ceremony was followed by The Festive Board, which had a great atmosphere and was hopefully enjoyed by all who were present. W. Bro. G. D. Hextall tried on his family jewel, which will hopefully have been a memorable occasion.

All in all, a great night was had by all who attended. Thanks to all those Officers who took part and all our Visitors who were present.
